Sustainable Travel - Enjoying Switzerland to the Fullest
Promoting resource-efficient and sustainable tourism in Switzerland is a special concern for us at STEINENSCHANZE Charming City & Garden Hotel. Due to our location in the protected Basel Old Town, promoting ecological and sustainable city travel is a necessity for us. This not only involves a responsible approach to natural resources. We collaborate with regional stakeholders and nurture the local culture of Basel. Therefore, we have committed ourselves as a member of the Swiss Tourism Association (ST), a network of sustainable hotels in Switzerland, to the sustainability strategy 'Swisstainable' – and have achieved the first of three levels, the 'committed' level.

In addition to the Commitment to make travel in Switzerland sustainable, we conduct a sustainability check. In this, the management team has gathered initial ideas from service to kitchen to use individual resources more sustainably and consciously. After this self-analysis, we compiled a list of measures for a sustainable holiday in the hotel. A commission has reviewed and approved the implementation of these measures.
