A visit to the Basel Zoo
Curiosity awakens. Aim to satisfy it with encounters which appeal to all the senses. You feel, smell, hear and see the animals. Discovery is the order of the day. The carefully designed enclosures and the animals living within require careful observation before all becomes clear. Windows in the foliage reveal and conceal the animals within. This lets you experience everything first-hand: Long-tailed macaques cacophonously discussing their hierarchy, a chimpanzee lost in thought as she breastfeeds her infant, small sable antelopes racing one another, flamingos feeding their only chicks on raised nests, leapfrogging pygmy goats teaching human children how to behave and lions blinking lazily in the sun.
BASEL ZOO is open every day, even on Sundays and public holidays.
